Behavior of copper and lead during mineralurgical and hydrometallurgical processing of flash smelting slag

Abstract There are only a few smelters processing copper concentrates directly into blister copper. Despite the many advantages of this process, serious challenge technology is need to process resulting flash smelting slag. It contains 12–15% and 2.5–4% lead. In form, it cannot be considered as waste material and, therefore, high-temperature reduction carried out. This decopperization energy- time-consuming. The use mineralurgical hydrometallurgical processes, selective enrichment appropriate slag fractions in lead, followed by its recovery Cu Pb could an interesting supplement methods used so far. article presents results research on possibility separation useful components from using original method sieve analysis, gravitational magnetic separation. Preliminary tests were made laboratory scale. Then, leaching lead was out, obtaining very promising results.
